Our strategy has changed since the early stages of our work on the Preemie Fund. At first, our goal was to raise a fixed amount of money and keep it available for specific needs as they came up. However, we soon realized that it would be much more effective to help specific preemie families with their clearly defined financial needs as they arise, while leaving the site open for donations before those needs come up; these early donations provide a helpful head-start for meeting specific future deadlines.

So, feel free to donate, as it will help us meet future needs. But, more importantly, consider this list of the ways you can help, in order of priority:

1. Pray. This is the most important thing you can do. We can do everything humanly possible to help these families, but ultimately we need God’s blessing in order to succeed!

2. Let us know of any Christian families that are in the process of accruing, or have accrued, large preemie bills, and that believe it is the role of the Body of Christ and voluntary giving, and not the State, to meet these needs.

3. Spread the word. Here are a few easy ways you can do this:

                a. “Like” the LTFPA facebook page at

                b. Share a simple message on your blog, facebook status, or twitter, linking to the site.

                c. Send out a personal e-mail announcement to friends and family with a link to the site and facebook page.

4. Stay tuned through the website and facebook page so that you’re aware when a specific need arises.

5. Donate. These early donations will give us that helpful boost once we get a real need and specific deadline! Every small contribution helps us get that much closer to meeting these needs!

We are in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) status. In the meantime, we are happy to make any and all accounting for the preemie fund available to past or potential donors.
